Located about 12 kilometres from Thanjavur, the Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology is spread across a 114-acre campus that houses several faculties, including the faculty of architecture and planning, the faculty of engineering and technology, the faculty of computer sciences and engineering and the faculty of humanities, science and management. Common infrastructure on the campus includes hostels for male and female students, a 24x7 hospital, various sports facilities including a multipurpose indoor stadium, a driving school and transport facilities to and from the city. The institute library is stocked with print and digital resources and offers access to several academic networks and databases. The faculty of engineering and technology offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes under a number of departments, including aerospace engineering, biotechnology, civil engineering and mechanical engineering, among others. The institute says its graduates have been recruited by firms like Tech Mahindra, Zomato, American Megatrends, ICICI Prudential and TCS, among others.
