IIT Roorkee’s 365-acre campus is located in the heart of the city, about four kilometres from Roorkee railway station. Offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in several disciplines, the institute’s on-campus infrastructure includes hostels for male and female students as well as married scholars, a hospital, various facilities for indoor and outdoor sports and several canteens, cafes and dining facilities. Academic infrastructure includes many well-stocked laboratories under the various departments, an institute computer centre, a central library offering access to several academic networks and databases as well as print and digital resources and a placement and internship cell. The institute says that notable recruiters include firms like Bajaj Auto, Adobe, Amazon, Essar Steel, Ford, GE, Gail, HCL and ICICI, among several others.
