IIT Kanpur’s 1,055-acre campus is located on the Hardoi-Kanpur road, about 13 kilometres from Kanpur Central railway station. Offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in several disciplines, the institute’s on-campus infrastructure includes residences for male and female students, a health centre, shops and canteens, and several facilities for indoor and outdoor sports. Academic infrastructure includes several well-stocked laboratories under the various departments, a central library with print and digital resources and offering access to several academic networks and databases, a central workshop and a central cryogenic facility, among others. IIT Kanpur also has a students’ placement office, which says that notable recruiters include firms like McKinsey, Microsoft, Mitsubishi, Britannia, Deloitte and GE, among several others.
