About Birla Institute of Technology Mesra (BIT Mesra) Ranchi, Jharkhand

Located near the Subarnarekha river in Ranchi, BIT Mesra is one of India’s oldest engineering institutions. It has several firsts to its credit—it was the first to establish a department of space engineering and rocketry, the first to set up an on-campus rocket test-firing facility and the first to offer postgraduate programmes in association with ISRO. Offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in various disciplines (as well as PhDs/ research positions), the institute is fully residential, with on-campus housing for male and female students equipped with reading rooms, entertainment halls and independent messes. On-campus infrastructure includes a CAD laboratory (computer-aided design for 2D and 3D design and analysis), a central instrumentation facility (for chemical/ material analysis and so on), a well-equipped central library, a healthcare facility, a canteen and shopping complex and facilities for indoor and outdoor sports. In terms of placements, recruiters include global leaders like Verizon, Amazon, Wipro, Tata, Samsung and Hyundai, among others.
